The Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery at UWA partnered with CHE to deliver a series of educational and outreach activities in response to the exhibition ‘Memento Mori’, held in the latter part of 2014. The exhibition explored questions of emptiness and the transience of earthly pleasures, prompting a reassessment of our moral progress as we move through life toward the certainty of death. One of CHE's major contributions to this event was a symposium, which drew together scholars from across Australia to reflect on the nature of death and the manner of its representation and meanings in visual art and literature since medieval times.
