Sickness and Fear in Early Modern England

The Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine and CHE present two lectures in conjunction with the "History of Anaesthesia" exhibition currently hosted at The University of Sydney. Dr. Ursula Potter presents Green Sickness in Romeo and Juliet: considerations on the disease of virgins in sixteenth-century England and Dr. Judith Bonzol presents Afflicted children: supernatural illness, fear and anxiety in early modern England.

In addition to our two presenters, attendees are invited to view the exhibition currently hosted immediately adjacent to the seminar room.
