This interdisciplinary conference is jointly organised by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe 1100‒1800) and the Centres for Medieval Studies, Renaissance and Early Modern Studies and Eighteenth-Century Studies at the University of York.

INFORMATION FOR PRESENTERS AND GUESTS
The 'Powerful Emotions/Emotions and Power' conference will commence with an opening reception at 18.30 on Tuesday 27 June at King’s Manor (directions are below).  The conference proceedings will begin at 9.30am on Wednesday 28 June. 

PowerPoint facilities will be available in all rooms for presenters use – all you need to do is bring your presentation on a USB stick and we will get you set up. If you have any special requirements please make these known to the organisers as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Please note that all papers should be strictly 20 minutes and we will be asking our chairs to strictly enforce this to ensure that we run to time.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

The conference itself will be located in the Berrick Saul Building on the University of York’s Heslington West campus, which is on the edge of the town. The number 66 bus runs frequently from the train station and takes about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.

The wine reception on Tuesday evening will take place in the Huntingdon Room in King’s Manor, which is located in York city centre, about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Directions to King’s Manor can be found here.
