Call for Papers
The ‘object’, and its attendant emotional world, is of growing interest with the rise of material culture studies, ‘thing theory’, post-humanism, and a range of other approaches to the non- and more-than- human. Scholars of emotion have long had an interest in the relationship between material good and emotions, not least due to the prominence of objects in enabling emotional experience, and that interest is expanding apace with the rise of new approaches and new studies. This workshop offers the opportunity to explore the various and multiple ways that objects, material structures, ‘things’, environments, and emotions intersect and inform each other. We welcome new theorisations, case studies, and provocations on this topic, from any discipline and scholars of all career stages.
Please send a title and 200 word abstract to katie.barclay@adelaide.edu.au by the 1 September 2022.
The call for papers is now closed.
This event will be followed by the Adelaide CHE node’s Christmas get together.
