This informal symposium is designed to explore new questions and contexts for the study of the history of performance by bringing together scholars who work on Shakespeare studies and the theatre and cultural history of Ireland, Australia and Britain. Topics to be covered will include theatre riots, the affect of ‘dark’ theatres, touring and Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
