The University of Queensland Node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions is organising a Continuing Professional Development Seminar for schoolteachers on the topic of 'Emotional Lives of Cities'. Dr Andrew Wilson, an architectural historian (from the School of Architecture at The University of Queensland) will speak to his research on the close collaboration of art and architecture in various Queensland architectural landmarks, with a focus on the brutalist architecture of Wickham Street in Brisbane. We will also be presenting an online pedagogical resource on the topic of the 'Emotional Lives of Cities', which combines the various perspectives of art, and art, architectural, and literary criticism, to analyse how artists, architects, and authors address various issues and problems facing humane urban existence.
