Dr Ashok Collins is an Honorary Associate Investigator (AI 2016) with CHE and a Lecturer in French Studies at the Australian National University. Before taking up his current position at the ANU, Ash taught French and European Studies at The University of Western Australia where he also completed his PhD on twentieth-century French literature and post-deconstructive French philosophy. His primary research interests include twentieth- and twenty-first-century French intellectual history, twentieth-century French literature, continental philosophy, philosophy of religion and philosophy of education.
His work as an Associate Investigator explores how twentieth- and twenty-first-century continental philosophy has appropriated and reinterpreted mystical emotional experience in order to interrogate the binary division between theism and atheism within secular modernity.
