Alessandro Arcangeli

Alessandro Arcangeli is Associate Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Verona, Italy. In 2016 he was Distinguished International Research Visiting Fellow at the CHE nodes of Melbourne and Sydney. He is a cultural historian, who between 2013 and 2017 served as Chair of the Committee of the International Society for Cultural History. He has worked on cultural history methodologically and historiographically, both with reference to Italy and in a wider perspective. His area of specialisation is Renaissance and early modern Europe, with particular research interests in dance (also in cultural encounters), leisure, the sixteenth-century conceptualization and classification of affects, as well as dreams. He has also edited or co-edited (or is doing it currently) volumes on cultural history in general as well as on memory, sport, leisure and dance.
