Dr Chantal Bourgault du Coudray teaches gender and cultural history, and is also the Academic Coordinator of the McCusker Centre for Citizenship at The University of Western Australia.
Join Chantal to explore connections between feminism, collaboration and community through reference to artworks in the exhibition 'Authentic Determination'.
These include new works developed by artist Brigid Noone, in response to selected works from the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art, as well as works by artists in her own network.
About 'Authentic Determination': 'Authentic Determination' sees South Australian artist Bridgit Noone apply her unique methodology to the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art, considering the artist as ‘whole being’. Noone will open a conversation between the collection, her own work and the work of her peers, exploring how the complex lives of artists are embodied in their work.
This event is hosted by the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery and the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions.
