The University of Queensland Node of CHE is led by Chief Investigator Professor Peter Holbrook, a scholar of Shakespeare and English Renaissance literature. UQ CHE’s research team includes ARC postdoctoral fellows: Dr Spencer Jackson specializes in long eighteenth-century British literature and twentieth-century French philosophy. Dr Kenneth Chong is a medievalist, who focuses on intellectual history and literature. Dr Diana G. Barnes conducts research on early modern women’s manuscript letters.

Former postdoctoral fellows Dr Ross Knecht, a specialist in sixteenth-century English literature, and Dr Brandon Chua, who focuses on the literature and politics of seventeenth-century Britain, continue to be involved with the centre as honorary researchers.

Research into the history of emotions is also carried out by a team of Associate Investigators working in such fields as Art History, Music, Literature, and History.
