Welcome to the University of Queensland node of the ARC Centre
of Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe 1100 - 1800).

The UQ Node of the Australian Research Council Centre of
Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe 1100-1800) is
located in the Forgan Smith Building (Building 1) of the St Lucia
campus (rooms E225 and E227). The Chief Investigator and
Director of the UQ Node is Professor Peter Holbrook, whose research
interests lie in English Renaissance literature, especially
Shakespeare. Currently there are two postdoctoral research fellows
associated with the Node: Dr Ross Knecht, a specialist in
sixteenth-century English literature, and Dr Brandon Chua, an
expert on mid- to late-seventeenth-century English literature.
There are several Associate Investigators of the Centre also
based at UQ and working in early modern European literature, art
history, music, and social and intellectual history. The UQ Node
will host an international research "collaboratory" towards the end
of 2013, focused on the rhetoric and arts of emotion in medieval
and early modern Europe.
